Lehi was not technically a Jew. His lineage shows that he was a descendant of Joseph (1Nep 5:14). We later find out that it is by way of Manasseh.
However, Lehi did live in the Southern Kingdom of Judah and therefore could be considered Jewish in culture. If he were living today, he would be be classified as a Jew, as are modern Levites, Benjamites, and presumably Danites.
Although Adam Sandler has yet to point this out, Moses also was not a Jew - he was Levite.
